About Stewart

Stewart joined the team in November 2022 moving from the Northeast of England after spending 16 years as Head Golf Professional at Teesside Golf Club, where Stewart ran his own business in golf retail, teaching & custom fitting. Stewart has been an Accredited and now Advanced member of the UK PGA since 2007 & achieved the UK PGA Director of Golf qualification in 2022, he also served on the North East/North West of England PGA committee and Captained the PGA section from 2020-2022.

About Ron

PGA Professional Ron Zaborowski is a native Texan who grew up in the hill country of New Braunfels. After a 7-year stint in California working construction and going to school, he moved to Kingwood to be close to his family. Ron started working at Deerwood Club as an Assistant Golf Professional in 2012 where he immersed himself in the culture of the club learning the complexities of running the business and building relationships with the membership. During his tenure at Deerwood, he completed his PGA schooling and received his Class A certification in 2017, was promoted to Head Golf Professional, and laid the foundation for Deerwood as we know it today after Hurricane Harvey took its toll on the Kingwood community. That same year, Ron married his wife, Jackie, and now has two young boys, Lincoln and Hudson. In 2021 Ron advanced his career once more, attaining the position of Regional Director of Tournament Sales at Kingwood Country Club. He brings his members-first mindset and relationship-building skills to a part of the operation that has benefited from a change. Ron is proud to be part of the Clubs of Kingwood staff for the past decade and looks forward to serving its members and the community in the years to come.

About John

John Oberly Jr. was born and raised in Newark, Delaware, and is a 2006 graduate of the Broadcasting Institute of Maryland, where he earned an associate degree in Communications with a concentration in Sports Broadcasting. John's career in the golf industry began in 2004 at Ed Oliver Golf Club in Wilmington, Delaware, where he started as a cart attendant and quickly advanced to Assistant Golf Professional. He later expanded his career by joining Indiana Country Club near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as First Assistant Golf Professional. In 2012, John became part of the team at Mount Vernon Country Club in Alexandria, Virginia, where he served as First Assistant before being promoted to Director of Player Development. In 2020, he was named Head Golf Professional. Throughout his career, John has excelled in managing comprehensive golf operations, including coordinating a robust tournament schedule and developing an exceptional merchandise program. An accomplished instructor, he is passionate about working with players of all ages and skill levels to help.

Introducing Chris, a familiar face in the golf community with a captivating journey that intertwines with the legacy of the Clubs of Kingwood and Deerwood. Chris's influence extended beyond his professional roles. For the past five years, he has been at the helm of the DWGA group at Deerwood, ensuring that Thursday mornings were dedicated to their enjoyment. His commitment to creating a sense of belonging extended to assisting with the DMGA, contributing to the Deerwood Rack on Fridays, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere for all members. With a wealth of experience, Chris is set to bring his values of integrity, dedication, and community to the Clubs of Kingwood. As he steps into his new role, he remains committed to ensuring that the Clubs of Kingwood continues to be a home away from home for its members.
